SDCWA EMERGENCY AQUEDUCT PIPELINE SHUTDOWN

The San Diego County Water Authority (SDCWA) is conducting an emergency pipeline shutdown for repairs. The shutdown on the SDCWA Aqueduct Pipeline serving Rainbow MWD customers in the southern region of the district (see map below) will take place on Monday, February 28th through Thursday, March 10th

NOTE:  The District will provide water service throughout the duration of the shutdown.This will NOT affect your water service.

In preparation for the 10-Day SDCWA EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN, the District strategically placed temporary diesel water pumps to provide continuous water service to the customers in this area throughout the duration of the repairs. For those properties near these pumps, we apologize for any inconvenience the noise may cause and will do our best to minimize the impact.

We ask customers to curtail outdoor irrigation to the MAXIMUM EXTENT POSSIBLE beginning February 28, 2022, through the duration of the shutdown. We are suggesting customers deep soak their groves and landscaping PRIOR to February 28th to minimize the impact on our water supply.

Customers in this area will receive a reminder call and postcards pertaining to this activity.

The shutdown is scheduled to run for approximately 10 days, however, these dates may be adjusted depending on the extent of the repairs.
