District Detachment from San Diego County Water Authority
In July 2019 the Board of Directors approved entering into an MOU with the Eastern Municipal Water District and the Fallbrook Public Utility District enabling the District to take the next steps in a potential annexation into Eastern MWD.
At the October board meeting a resolution was adopted by the Board authorizing the General Manager to prepare an application to the San Diego Local Agency Formation Commission (SDLAFCO) for the detachment of the District’s service area from SDCWA and annexation into the Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD).
As we are in the beginning stages of this process and much more needs to be done to determine the feasibility of this endeavor, we will try to keep you posted as to the progress.
If you would like to be more involve with this development or any District business, please join us at our monthly board meetings.
