Rainbow Municipal Water District's Rapid Aerial Water Supply

In cooperation with North County Fire and CAL FIRE, RMWD is currently in the process of building a rapid aerial water supply to help combat wildfires in our area.

What Is A Rapid Aerial Water Supply?

A rapid aerial water supply is a remotely activated snorkal system which enables helicopter pilots to access 5,000 gallons of water within 120 seconds in case of nearby fire emergencies.

Where Will Rainbow's Rapid Aerial Supply Be Located?

May contain: landscape, nature, outdoors, scenery, and aerial view

The 15 foot diameter by 7 foot deep tank will be located adjacent to the Pala Mesa Tank. The tanks location is on top of a hill, which allows the pilot to have a 360-degree view of the nearby region. The proximity to the Pala Mesa Tank will ensure a quick delivery of water to the rapid aerial water supplyin a matter of seconds.

Why Build A Rapid Aerial Water Supply In Our District?

May contain: smoke

Due to the frequency of fires in our communities, RMWD saw a need to assist firefighters by expediting the delivery of water to their helicopters.
