Proposed New Division Boundaries

Under the Constitution of the State of California and the Constitution of the United States, the Rainbow Municipal Water District adjusts the boundaries of the political subdivisions within the district after each decennial census is complete. The goal of redistricting is to adjust the boundaries so that each division has a “substantially” equal population.

Upon receipt of the 2020 data from the Census Bureau, District staff carefully processed the data using standard census processing techniques and before approval, the topic was included on five Board of Directors meetings as well as 14 committee meetings. The final public hearing was held at our February 2022 Board of Directors meeting.

Below is a PDF that shows the proposed new District Director Division Boundaries. In the map, the number directly below the District names are the populations for each District, in the Old and New Divisions respectively.
