Contact our Engineering Department at (760) 728-1178 with your address or Assessor’s Parcel Number to determine which pressure zone you are in. The following equation is what is used to obtain an approximate static water pressure: (Pressure zone elevation – site or meter elevation) X 0.433 psi/ft = static water pressure in psi. To determine the exact static water pressure at your property, you can purchase a pressure gauge and connect it to your system via hose bib. Turn on the hose bib and the pressure gauge will give you a pressure reading. Due to the predominantly rugged and mountainous terrain and flatter river valleys, Rainbow Municipal Water District has varying pressures. A pressure regulator is required at the owner’s expense for meters if the water pressure exceeds 150 psi.
