DigAlert is a non-profit mutual benefit corporation funded completely by the utility members and was formed on September 13th, 1976,
DigAlert serves nine Southern California counties (Imperial, Inyo, Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Riverside and Ventura) in an ongoing effort to ensure that preventable accidents stay prevented.
The law states that anyone doing any type of digging in the public right of way, with power driven equipment or when a permit is required MUST contact DigAlert prior to excavation. The consequences for not doing so are not only severe but could lead to injury or loss of life.
