The Rainbow Municipal Water District is accepting applications from residents of Division 3 who are interested in being appointed to the district’s governing board. 

Candidates must be a resident of Division 3 (Water Code Section 71250).  If you are unsure if you live in Division 3 you may contact the district’s customer service staff at 760-728-1178 to find out or go to the Board section of our website and use the Mapping tool to the right of the page.  The link below will take you to the tool.  A link to a map of Division 3 is below the link to the mapping tool.

Board members are eligible for a $150 payment for each meeting, with a maximum of two meetings per month.  They are also reimbursed for mileage.  There are no other benefits and they must pay taxes on the $150.

Board meetings are usually held once a month on the 4th Tuesday, but we sometimes have special meetings.  The meetings start around 11:00 AM and last until about 3:00 PM, but on occasion go later.

The person appointed to fill the vacancy for Division 3 will hold the seat until the next board election, which will be November 2018; they may run for reelection at that time for a f9ur year term that will end in 2022.  

Interested persons who have the time to commit to the Board may contact the Board Secretary at 760-728-1178, Ext. 129.  We will need your name, address and contact information, and a brief background of your education and experience.  This information must be received by noon on January 15, 2017.  The Board intends to make the appointment at the January 24, 2017 Board meeting or as soon as possible thereafter.
